Kung Fu BBQ & Hotpot Buffet
Hotpot on one half of the table, a grill on the other, and one price for both. Crab, prawns, sliced lamb and a fridge full of greens, carried back as often as you like — and the karaoke booth costs nothing extra.
What ends up on the table
The grill and the hotpot run side by side at the same table, and every counter in the room is included in the one price. The reviews keep landing on the grilled meats, the seafood and the desserts. Three chilled counters hold the raw food — one for hotpot, one for the barbecue, one stacked with greens and tofu.

Deep-fried mini buns and hot chips
The card propped in front of the first tray reads Deep Fried mini buns — golden cubes with a pair of tongs laid across them. Along from it, a tray of hot chips, a tray of small round fried balls and a tray of flat golden pieces, running down the counter to the bowls of cooked dishes at the far end.

Crab, squid and prawns at the hotpot counter
The trays here carry their own labels — crab, squid, small cuttlefish — and packed in beside them are whole raw prawns, rolled marbled pork belly and red-and-white crab sticks.

Lamb, beef and pork, sliced for the grill
Lamb, pork, beef and chicken laid out flat — some plain, some already sitting in a deep red marinade. You carry the plate back and cook it yourself over the grill in the middle of the table.

Two broths and a grill going at once
Two red pots of broth, each on its own induction ring, and the grill beside them with a couple of dark marinated slices and pale ribbons of fat already laid on it. Spicy, mushroom and chicken are three of the broths you can pick.
A grill in the middle of every table
Kung Fu is the low black building on Pleasant View Road with its name lit right along the roofline. Inside, every round table has a grill set into the centre and an induction ring at each seat, so the barbecue and the hotpot run at the same time. Opera masks and a painted red sun fill the wall, paper parasols hang from the ceiling, and there are private dining rooms when the group gets big. Doors open at 5pm Tuesday to Friday; on Saturday and Sunday lunch starts at 11.30am as well.

“Absolutely amazing restaurant and dining experience! There is a great variety of food, all incredibly fresh and delicious. The place is spotlessly clean. My personal favorites are the grilled meats, crabs and desserts. They also offer a wide selection of hot pot ingredients. What impressed us most was the outstanding service. It was my friend’s birthday today, and the owner together with all staff sang the birthday song for us. Totally worth every penny! A perfect spot for group gatherings. 5 stars highly recommended!”
“We were looking for a Hotpot and Karaoke place. The reviews for the place were good and the service we got was even better. We opted for three of the broths spicy, mushroom and chicken. There is a good selection of ingredients for the hotpot and BBQ Karaoke booth is free but the selection is a bit limited. Overall good service and nice team”
“First time visiting this newly opened buffet with friends, and it did not disappoint. Lively, bustling atmosphere but still comfortable. They have private dining rooms which is great for groups needing privacy. Dual hot pot + BBQ is such a good idea—something for everyone! Food variety is impressive: crayfish, premium beef, plenty of seafood, sides and desserts. All fresh and delicious. Will absolutely be back. Highly recommend to anyone looking for all-you-can-eat in Auckland!”
